The Legacy of Gerber Wood Products: Over 120 Years of Craftsmanship

At Gerber Wood Products, we proudly trace our heritage back to 1901, when E.P. Gerber founded a sawmill to serve the Kidron, Ohio community. As the area grew, so did the needs of the community. Eventually, a full-service mill and woodworking shop was needed — so the company acquired a woodworking facility and Gerber Wood Products was born. We’re proud of this rich heritage and how we’ve continued to build on it through the years, all while delivering unparalleled craftsmanship.

Adapting to Changing Woodworking Techniques

Woodworking techniques and equipment have gone through a number of advances over the years, and we’ve worked hard to make use of these changes in our own work. For example, we now use a top-end CNC router machine to provide cuts at extremely tight tolerances of +/-0.001 for plastics and +/-0.005 for most woods. Our craftsmen and designers are constantly striving to improve their own abilities so we can deliver outstanding results.

Why We Stay Local

At Gerber Wood Products, we’re big believers in having products that are “proudly made in America.” Our local community means the world to us, especially with such a rich history in the area. Even as we’ve expanded and added new lines to the business, we’ve remained committed to our roots, sourcing domestic lumber and keeping our manufacturing local. We believe this commitment allows us to consistently deliver high-quality work.

While a lot has changed over the years, the Gerber Wood Products team remains fully committed to the same values that E.P. Gerber used when he started his original sawmill. By placing quality and craftsmanship at the forefront of everything we do, we are confident in our abilities to meet the needs of our customers, no matter what kind of project they need help with.
